Colossians 3:16…

Colossians 3:16
Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.

Gratitude, an amazing thing, the act of being thankful or appreciative.  It is something we teach our children and we strive for.  At Thanksgiving we give thanks for all the blessings we have received.  For the last couple of years, beginning Nov. 1st I’ve posted things I am thankful for on each day.  This year I went to my facebook page posted  my first item and stopped.  Being thankful is one thing, but being grateful is “an act”.  So this year instead of just posting something, I plan to meditate  on it.  Meditating is an action!

So during the month of November I encourage you to be grateful and count your blessings!

About pcobb0

I am a wife and mother to two wonderful adult children who I had the privilege of homeschooling from their pre-school through high school years. While homeschooling, I served in various leadership positions in local homeschool support groups including president. I also served as the Education Coordinator and Director of ENAACT Family Academy, a homeschool co-op in New Braunfels, Tx .Prior to homeschooling, I spent 11 years teaching elementary school aged children in both public and private schools. During my time teaching in the public school system, I earned a Master's Degree in Reading Education as well as a Reading Specialist certification. My hobbies include reading and cooking and I plan to take up scrapbooking and maybe photography in the near future. I am now an empty nester discovering what God has in store for me during this next season of life.

I like what you say about gratitude being “an act”. I see a lot of lip service this time of year, but are we really meditating on (or even acting on) those things we claim thankfulness for? This post reminds me to stop and really think about my blessings rather than voice a quick thanks and move on. Nice post.
